WELCOME TO PLANET PENCIL
PENCIL is the home of artist and creative dynamo Jenny Dyson and her team. The ruler of pencil is connected to multiple strands of creative work. Her team expands and contracts depending on the client and project.
A fashion editorial background infuses Jenny’s work. Following a fleeting dip in the modelling world after being scouted by Mario Testino, Jenny’s fashion pedigree spans stints at Vogue, Teen Vogue, ELLE, Tatler and of course her very own RUBBISH magazine. This cult read was the daddy to the official newspaper for London Fashion Week, aka Daily Rubbish and then The LFW Daily, printed by the Guardian and read by 50,000 Londoners a day during the biggest event on the fashion calendar for the UK.
Clients commission Jenny to create unique works of art, bespoke print products, campaign concepts and brand identities. Recent work includes a bespoke annual publication for ROGUE FILMS, creating artwork, product and plates for PASTAIO and currently brand campaign concepts for Le Chameau. Previously, Pencil has worked with clients spanning Armani, Chanel, Mercedes-Benz and whisky brand Compass Box among others. Jenny also voiced a series of meditations for National Prison Radio and TV, as part of her ongoing work for prison charity ONE SMALL THING.
The famous Dick Flowchart is a cult screen print. RUBBISH magazine is now a highly collectable fashion annual owing to its satirical approach to style [out of print, with plans for a bumper issue returning soon].
Pencil continues to work with clients and still makes weird ceramics (see photo above) and tiles using AI [before it turned evil]. Get in touch here! 👩🏼🎨
